Welcome
to the website of the Tincher family and Indian Creek
Simmentals. The purebred cattle herd was started in 1993
with the purchase of an established purebred herd here
in Ohio. We have utilized A.I. and Embryo transfer to
grow our current herd to 100+ purebred and commercial
brood cows. We are very proud of our first 15 years of
purebred seedstock production. The Indian Creek
Simmental herd now consists of the cutting edge top
genetics in the Simmental breed. We have sold cattle
from Utah to Maine, from Minnesota to Florida. We are
particularly proud of the repeat costumers that we have
established here in Western Ohio, eastern Indiana and
Kentucky. We strive to provide the products and the
services that will be profitable for our customers.
Our farm is located southwest of Oxford, Ohio. Oxford is
home to the picturesque Miami University campus, founded
in 1809. Marc was born and raised in Oxford and
graduated from Miami University. Danielle was born in
Cincinnati and raised mostly in southeast Indiana and
graduated from Ball State University. Both Marc and
Danielle are teachers at Talawanda High School; Marc
teaches Psychology and Sociology, while Danielle teaches
10th grade English. Jack (7) and Scout (5) attend Kramer
elementary school in Kindergarten and preschool,
respectively. Visitors are always welcome!
2009 is looking like a marvelous year here at Indian
Creek Simmentals its looking much more promising than
2008. June 6th 2008 a little before 9:00 p.m. the farm
was hit by a Tornado. Completely destroying 2 barns and
damaging all of the other houses and barns. The tornado
hit 2 days after the Southern Oaks herd arrived from
Mississippi, those cows of course were completely
unphased by the tornado having lived through 3 days of
Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The summer growing season
went well with near record crop production on the farm
and a super calf crop. September 13th Hurricane Ike
decided to destroy one of the barns that had not been
previously destroyed by the tornado. Needless to says we
pay very close attention to the weather around here.
2009 is looking up the Bulls of the Bluegrass sale was
solid we sold a great Bull, IC/RR/JJ Shark, he was the
high selling lot. We are really looking forward to the
Belles of the Bluegrass and the fancy open spring and
fall heifers we will be selling. |
